This was one of the most touching experiences with a da Vinci I've ever had. When I saw it, I stared at it for nearly a half hour in total awe. The attribution to Leonardo for this piece by doctor Carlos Pedretti during this century is still up in the air. It is the most likely candidate for three dimensional work by Leonardo. The date is right. The face shape is similar to those Leonardo has been known to draw. The hair bears a severe degree of resemblance to the flowing water that Leonardo draws in his water studies. Still, documentation of this piece is sparse, making it difficult for any attribution.
